Privacy

Documents covering the privacy policy, cookies, data subject rights, international transfers, regional supplements, and children’s privacy.

Privacy is not only a compliance topic. It is about where boundaries are drawn.

On this site, much of this material is written as privacy notices, not as a single opaque “policy.” Public work is published on purpose; private correspondence and third-party information stay private unless there is a clear reason otherwise. That line is what privacy means here.

Core principles

  1. Collect and keep only what is needed — No extra data for the stated purpose

  2. Keep public and private clearly separate — Distinguish published activity from private communication

  3. Do not publish others without a proper basis — Third-party information or exchanges stay private without consent or another legitimate reason

  4. Prefer plain explanation — Clarity over vague or overly legal wording

What “personal data” means

“Personal data” means information that can identify a specific person—names, email addresses, IP addresses, and anything that becomes identifying alone or together with other data. Atalie follows the definition framework of Japan’s Act on the Protection of Personal Information.
