Why separate maintenance from status

Status is about the current operational picture. Maintenance is about intentional change work. Keeping them separate makes it easier to understand whether a disruption is planned, ongoing, or historical.

Reading Notes

Operational pages may stay quiet for long stretches and then become important very quickly. Treating them as maintained public routes in advance makes it much easier to publish clear notices when something actually changes.
